Shrugging With Atlas (Dedication of a Lifetime)

Dedication of a Lifetime

Tamsen Parker

I wanted to truly like this story, but it was difficult to say the least. Don’t get me wrong. I get it. The world is a scary place. It makes it less scary to know that there are people like Sean and Isaac in the real world – fighting the good fight (oxymoron and all).

Because when the National Guards were called out to patrol the borders of Mexico, for some imagined impending invasion, which justified the expense of a call to arms – all I could think was the wasted resources on nothing meant that in the event of something real the coffers might very well be depleted.

So these two guys angling to save the world and the reality of the world around me was like heads clashing to the nth. “Release the Kraken,” why don’t you. Sean and Isaac carry the weight of the world and Atlas is an interesting role model, but then there’s life. The big picture is a freaking BIG picture and the minutia is small and we are small. They had the big down pat. I wanted the small in there as well, but I blinked and I guess I missed it.
