Magic In the Snow (The Blizzard)
The Blizzard
by Erin M. Leaf
It
is a tad disconcerting to read a story with established characters when you’re
oblivious of the prior story. Reading “The Billionaire’s Bodyguard,” is a must
to better understand this story, but if you’re like me, it won’t make you love
it more. Sometimes I’m a sad sucker for magical elements, which also have a
logical explanation. Ultimately the reader can believe what they want to
believe-delusions of hyperthermia or magic. It really doesn’t matter which you
choose, as long as you’re choosing to read this story. As always Ms. Leaf’s
novella has some typos. Sometime there are even moments which can throw you off
the narrative grove when Ms. Leaf does this inverse with character names. This
kind of thing usually makes me a little crazy (of course—we all go a little mad
sometimes). I’ll make concessions for Ms. Leaf, as long as she keeps
writing.
