This is
a wonderful story. That draws you in with the opening line and holds you
attention throughout. It’s a first love that has staying power and don’t we all
wish life could imitate art in that respect.
Piper Vaughn’s “Wanting,”
is a must read - if you have the patients of a saint, which apparently I do
not. Yeah, yeah I know, all that instant gratification BS is truly meant for a
younger generation, which makes me the anomalous old dog leaning new tricks.
Don’t get me wrong—I loved this story. The follow-up “Giving,” was just as
sweet with the two compelling leads from this story. The problem for me, is
knowing there’s a third story out there yet to see the light of day.
In and of themselves,
“Wanting,” and its sequel “Giving,” are beautifully written - quirky even (and
who doesn’t love quirky). It’s the promise of “Ringing True,” a third
installment, which makes having read this story hard for me. I wish I’d been
blissfully oblivious to “Ringing True,” and whatever delays keep it in the
ether.
