There You Go (Going Down)
Going Down
I’ll be honest I genuinely and truly hate reading stories about people
on the cusp of the end. There are just too many endings in reality for me to
find any interest in the factionalized version. But in the case of Cassandra
Gold’s “Going Down,” I can’t say I wasn’t
forewarned, after all I’d read the synopsis.
Shallow, as I can be at times - book and cover and all that other crap -
and there you go and here I am. Well, coming back from my irrelevant tangent
the story is ridiculously short so I figured the brevity would make it more
palatable, like the ending credits being the saving grace of a bad movie. “Going
Down,” is not that story. It’s a tale of two people in love, rediscovering, not
just lust, but also the true connection they have. You’ve got to know I was
pleasantly surprised to find the perfect symmetry between the cover and text -
and there you go.
