Pulling No Punches (Five Dates)
Five Dates
Amy Jo Cousins
Honestly, I already wrote a review for Amy Jo Cousins’ “Five First
Dates,” but as ephemeral and temporal, as these things truly are - I’m sure the
review lingers somewhere in the ether. Perhaps one day … perhaps not. There’s a lot I can say about this story, but I’ll
hold my tongue, because it speaks for itself.
The beauty of words strung together in poetic verse for prose is
stunning. Without reservation Ms.
Cousins puts it all on the page. She doesn’t appear to be waiting with bated
breath for a venue or genre that’s revered. Her words are a thing of beauty. I
concede I could be wrong. It may well be her brilliance is still dormant inside
of her. If that is truly the case, I for one cannot wait.
