I Do My Crying In the Rain (Entangled)
Entangled by Lex Valentine
There
is something truly special about great cover art and though I’ve seen elements
of this cover in other books—I saw it here first. And if the cover wasn’t
captivating enough, the story surely is. It’s just one little moment where
confession is not just good for the soul. There is a beauty Ms. Valentine
captures in “Entangled” where a picture paints a thousand words and the story
complements the image with sixteen thousand more. I love when a strong
conversation drives a short story, when the exposition is integrated in the
dialogue, even better. We get Taylor’s backstory, when Daren gets the backstory.
The confession is sweet and sad and creates the moment and it’s a great moment.
Taylor calls Daren, Dare and I melted just a little bit. I’m rather partial to
stand-a-lone, but seriously Stone deserves his own story with the love of his
life. Still, in the absence of Stone’s story, Ms. Valentine’s “Entangled” is
one of my favorites. I too wait for the song.
